Today, I am flipping the switch on The Animal Store. It's a soft opening, but by the end of this week, I'll have more items up on the store for you to buy. Since it's a small operation, I'm keeping the price points simple. All prints are $20 (5x7) and $35 (8x12) and will be sent directly to you (shipping/taxes not included in the price). You can click here to access the shop.
While I finalize the rest of my selection, the only item on the store right now is this piece I have up at the moment is called "The Warrior." I originally shot this while I was in Vancouver last September, but I made it open for consumption earlier this month as part of a collaborative effort to help an artist in Fullerton fight breast and bone cancer. Here is what I wrote below in a Facebook update yesterday:
"Valerie Lewis is a pillar of the Fullerton art scene and is suffering from breast and bone cancer. Thanks to the effort of people like Nancy Johnson, Tim Johnson, Paul Sargeant, Leanne Sargeant, etc., we in the Fullerton arts community donated our time to create over 200 pieces of art made on wooden blocks for the "Small But Mighty" show last Friday. The turnout was overwhelming and in a span of four hours, the "Small But Mighty" show made thousands of dollars so Valerie can kick cancer's ass. My piece, 'The Warrior,' was sold and has found a home."
Anyway, I wanted to take my effort a step further and donate the proceeds from this specific piece (taxes/shipping fees not included) starting today until November 30 towards Valerie Lewis. I hope that you can help by buying a print from my store.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email.
